Kaikagetsu opened its doors in 1998 in Nogizaka, Japan.​

Taking apart and bringing the remains of an old house from the Hida region, Kaikagetsu was created to be a hidden gem tucked from the busy streets of Tokyo- with guests dining in a relaxing setting reminiscent of Hida.

​

20 years later, in 2018, Kaikagetsu found a place in the quickly developing chic neighborhood of the Lower East Side of NYC.  Produced by international creator, Tomoyuki Iwanami, Kaikagetsu NYC was designed to resonate with Hida and its new home in New York.

​

Unlike a la carte and sake centered Kaikagetsu in Japan, Kaikagetsu NYC is focused on kaiseki courses- Japanese courses comprised of various hot and cold dishes, and the prized Hida beef from Japan.

Our selection of drinks have been curated to compliment the dishes throughout the courses.
